Stylorouge were approached to design the new album cover for Jake Bugg’s third album, On My One. His brief was simple, but refreshingly open – he wanted to ring the changes and was determined to put art in place of his own face, so we set off in search of the right kind of art – something that was expressive and as honest and unpretentious as Jake himself. Something that suited the bitter-sweet content of Jake’s songs. From Manchester, via Liverpool, enter Nathan Pendlebury – an upcoming artist whose work is already heavily influenced by music. Jake invested in a few original Pendlebury’s, some of which were especially commissioned for the project.
The album is due for a June release, but pre-orders are already predictably high. A free track from the album, also entitled On My One, will be followed by the first single, Gimme The Love, which will be released as a double A sided 7 inch as well as digitally.
Look out for the details of the deluxe 12 inch vinyl which will be for sale on a direct-to-consumer basis only.
