Floyd’s Final Record Breaking Record

Our congratulations to Pink Floyd, as new album The Endless River entered the UK album chart at No.1 on November 16th, and within the following seven days, it continued to top the charts in 20 other territories.

By the time the album was launched at a lavish playback in London on the previous Monday 10th, it had already secured a unique record, as the most pre-ordered album ever on Amazon. Stylorouge have continued to work on the worldwide marketing for the release, which now includes digital billboards, video shop window displays and ‘exploding’ 3D packshot video clips to demonstrate the special formats available.

Novel Marketing for Tom Fuller

Freedom is the new album by Chicago’s Tom Fuller Band, which was launched in London on Monday November 17th at The Arts Theatre in Great Newport Street. Apart from a live set from the band, the evening featured a screening of a short film by Matt Silver, showcasing tracks from the Freedom album, and distribution of copies of The Sideshow, a graphic novel especially commissioned to promote the band, the film and the album.
Stylorouge were commissioned to make an epk for Tom, design the CD booklet and create the artwork for the graphic novel, which incorporates illustrations by Chris Villa-Lobos and Kate Glasheen. Design for Stylorouge was by Matt Shurben and Miki Comisso.

Imelda On The Road Home

Imelda On The Road Home

Bringing one of her busiest touring years to close, Imelda May enters the home straight of her current tour, taking in a number of major UK venues and culminating in two home-town gigs at Dublin’s 3 Arena on 19th and 20th December. A tour brochure has been added to the Stylorouge-designed merchandise range, and her Tribal album finally gets a 12 inch vinyl release, as well as a special format CD which includes extra tracks. Another thoroughly enjoyable year working with Imelda for us.

A New Site for Ian Fleming’s Villa

A New Site for Ian Fleming’s Villa

The flagship of the Island Outpost portfolio of vacation properties is Fleming Villa, one time home of the iconic novelist and creator of James Bond, Ian Fleming. The Stylorouge re-brand of the resort now includes a spanking new website, designed and build of the site was by Jamie Gibson, Ben Kirby and Mark Higenbottam for Stylorouge.

Creative Director Rob O’Connor flew out to the resort, which sits adjacent to Island Outpost’s Goldeneye complex on the Oracabessa coast in Jamaica earlier in the year to take some photographs for the site and meet some of the great people who work there.

Callaghan – A history in the making

Stylorouge have art directed and designed their second album package for Nashville-based briton, Callaghan, who was lured over to the USA three years ago, by the offer of album production by country star Shawn Mullins. Callaghan’s second album A History Of Now, will soon be available for pre-order from her website, callaghansongs.com, and she has just featured on the extended BBC show Bob Harris – My Nashville, in a section called “Back to Beth’s” which showcases a number of country-flavoured singer/songwriting talents in the setting of a house concert at the home of Beth Nielsen Chapman.
The photoshoot for the album sleeve took place in and around the Atlanta studio of photographer Scott Lowden.

Phoebe Rose rising

Phoebe Rose rising

Rarely do the credits on music packaging thank people for not having an age limit on their open mic. nights, but Fledgling, the first EP from the audaciously talented singer/songwriter Phoebe Rose, does just that. The reason is that Phoebe is just 14 years old, although she is already an experienced session singer and has appeared in professional productions of Joseph And The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
Keeping the youthful theme, we introduced Phoebe to up-coming photographer Laura McBlane who took the shots for the Stylorouge-designed EP sleeve.
